I've had parched, dehydrated skin my whole life, and a devoted skincare routine since middle school. After swim practice I would literally douse my face in Johnson's Baby Oil (nothing less would do for tightness).
I've refined my routine since then, even toying with taking oils out of my routine for fear they were making my skin too dependent. But I've realized that was misguided: oil is absolutely essential for my skin for hydration, but also for a daily luxury I do not want to live without.
